2nd Annual Blaine Billinger Celebration Run/Walk

Course Description: This is a family friendly event for all age. The course is primarily a trail route, consisting of rough, uneven terrain. Strollers and wheelchairs are not recommended on the 5K and 10 Course. Please use caution.  The 1 mile Celebration Walk will be a road course, strollers and wheelchairs are welcome. Family friendly pets are encouraged to join you as you participate; leashes must be on at all times, and we ask that you clean up after your pet (shots must be up to date). 

5K & 10K participants will start on the north end of the Treat Park soccer field. 1 Mile Celebration Walk will start on Allen St. & Ball Park Rd.

Registration fees:
*1 Mile Walk - $15.00 
*5K Timed - $25.00 
*10K Timed - $30.00 
* Kids 13 (UNDER) - FREE (non-registered participants will not receive a t-shirt)
ALL Registration fees increase by $5.00 AFTER Sept. 4th
On-Line Registration CLOSES: Friday, September 6th at 10:00 a.m.
Race Day Registration: Sept. 7th 7:30 a.m. - 8:15 a.m.
Registration fees will not be refunded.

Packet Pickup:
Wednesday, Sept. 4th at The Mall in Hays, KS from 4pm – 7pm & Thursday, September 5th from 4pm – 7pm.  All participants will receive a t-shirt and goodie bag. T-shirts guaranteed to all registrants prior to September 1st.

We invite you to participate in memory of Blaine, also in honor of those whom you cherish. We will offer a special Celebration of Life bib that you can personalize to honor your loved one.

*Snack and beverages provided for the participants after completion of the race. 

Awards for the top three runners in ALL categories.  Awards ceremony will start around 10:30 a.m. in the center of the Expo area. (Men, Woman Adults & Youth)

Expo includes: Vendors, Music, Raffles and so much more!! (Expo is open to the public)
Kathy’s Pancakes, offering pancake plate for $5.00 (3 pancakes, 2 sausages and bottle water)
Snow Cone Express, offer delicious snow cones 
Blaine Billinger Foundation, selling T-shirts, koozies, and other items to help raise money for the Fund.

Charity Information:
All proceeds from this event will help fund the Blaine Billinger Foundation, established to share Blaine’s passion for helping others and his love of the outdoors. He started his scouting career at a young age as a Cub Scout, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout as a high school junior in 1998. On September 17, 2011, while riding his mountain bike, Blaine collapsed and passed away after suffering from a Sudden Cardiac Death at the age of 29. The stranger, who came to his aid and cared for him until paramedics arrived, ironically was a fellow Eagle Scout.

The Foundation is designed to honor Blaine, promote scouting in a positive way, and to assist scouts who may not otherwise have the means necessary to participate in scouting activities. The fund also provides the scouts the opportunity to obtain a secondary education at Fort Hays State University. For more information visit our website:

Other Events throughout the day:

Celebration Poker Run
Whether you ride or drive, you can help us raise dollars for the fund by participating in the Poker Run will start at Frontier Park, 11 a.m. immediately following the run/walk. Participants will use their skill at throwing darts at cards at 5 locations and the best hand will win. Motorcycles and cars welcome to participate.

$15 for 1 card or 3 for $30.

Poker Run Wrap Up at the Fanchon Ballroom. Poker run participants and anyone who wants to join us will meet at the Fanchon for refreshments and a bite to eat. Winners will be announced and door prizes will be given away.

5:00 p.m.
Join us as we Celebrate Blaine's life. Volunteer of the year as well as other awards.

Silent Auction Preview

Including sports memorabilia items, gift baskets and various other items up for bid. Door prizes will also be given away. Free Admission
