Where the heck is Schoenchen???
The Schoenchen turnoff is about 10 miles south
of Hays...off Hwy 183. The town is located about
a half mile west of the highway. Earl’s Bar & Grill
is on that main road from the highway...south
side of the street.
This race is one of the most unique in the state
of Kansas. We will have no age groups for
awards. However, your time will be agegraded.
For example, a 64-year-old female who can
run a mile in 7:46 will age grade to 5:22.
Meanwhile, a 25-year-old female who runs
5:23 would still be recorded at 5:23.
This is what happened in last year’s inaugural
Schoenchen Mile. Patty Dreiling was our first
winner, with the 1-second victory over Raven
Awards and Presentations:
Overall Male and Female awards...plus awards
presented to the top 15 male and top 15 female
competitors using the WMA age-grading tables.
Each 440-yard split will be clearly marked and visible on the course.
Water will be available before and after the race,
but not on the racecourse. Earl’s will be open for
both adult and family-friendly beverages!
