The Laugh-and-a-half-marathon was created to promote wellness and to honor a comedy legend from Norfolk, Nebraska, Johnny Carson. All proceeds benefit pediatric needs in northeast Nebraska.

Packet Pickup/Pre-Race Pasta Party

Early packet pickup will take place at the pasta party which will be held on Friday, June 13 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Faith Regional Health Services, Terrace View Café, 2700 West Norfolk Avenue, Norfolk. Race packets will contain your race number, timing chip and safety pins. Race day packet pickup begins at 5:30 a.m. Please come early and enjoy the day’s festivities. Due to race morning time constraints, all runners are strongly encouraged to pick up their packets on Friday at the pasta party.

A complimentary pre-race pasta dinner is included in each race fee. This allows participant access to the pre-race pasta party on Friday, June 13 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Faith Regional Health Services’ Terrace View Café, 2700 West Norfolk Avenue. Additional pasta dinners may be purchased for friends and family at the door. Admission for guests is $5 per person (kids 5 and under free).

Awards

Half-Marathon: Overall male and female race winners receive the following: 1st place: $200 and winner's trophy, 2nd place: $100, 3rd place: $50 All half- marathon finishers receive a special finisher medal. 10K and 5K: Overall male and female race winners receive a winner's trophy. Age Divisions: 14 and under; 15-18; 19-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60+; 1 Mile Kids Fun Run: Race time as well as a participant ribbon is given to all runners. Participants must complete the entire distance (1 mile) to be eligible for special awards. Awards will be given to the top 3 in each age division. Age divisions: 7 and under, 8-12.

Post-Race Pancake Feed

Join us after the race for special vendors, an inflatable midway, music and more! Don’t miss the free pancake feed for all participants and at The “O” Lounge located at 1106 Riverside Blvd, Norfolk (located just north of the starting line). A free inflatable mid-way for kids, provided by UHOP Entertainment, will also be available just north of the Norfolk Senior High School building prior to and following the 1 Mile Kids Fun Run.

1 Mile Kids Fun Run

The 1 mile fun run is for kids ages 12 and under and will be held on the Johnny Carson Track. Signs and announcements will direct children and parents to the start and give race instructions. Children registered prior to June 1 are guaranteed a participant race t-shirt and ribbon. Registration from June 1-15 does not guarantee participant t-shirt. Parents or legal guardians of all participating children must sign a waiver prior to the start. Times for all runners will be given and finishers receive a participant ribbon. The top three winners in each age division (7 and under; 8-12) will receive special award ribbons.

Water and First Aid

Water stations with water and cups are located throughout the course; however, runners who desire additional hydration are encouraged to bring their own supplies. If you need medical assistance during the race, please notify a volunteer along the course. Medical volunteers are available to help and are authorized to remove runners from the course, who are deemed medically impaired. A first aid station with medical personnel will be available at the start/finish area and at the relay exchange zone. Medical personnel will also be monitoring other areas of the course.

In addition to posted results at the finish line area, online race results will be available shortly following the race course closing time on www.laughandahalfmarathon.com.
